About me

Greetings!  A few things you should know about me:

First of all, I am a child of God.  I came to know Christ as a child on my father's knee.  I faltered like many young children do and rededicated my life to him as a teen.  Ironically, it was my future mother-in-law who guided me on that path (of course, I had no idea that would be the case at the time).

Second, I love my family.  I married to a man I grew up with.  Our families did much together as we were growing up but I didn't know at the time that I was going to end up marrying into that family.  He was just a boy 4 1/2 years older than me.  On top of that, he did "weird" things like grow plants and read all the time.  Funny I should later marry him and do those "weird" things myself.   Together, we have 6 children here on earth (ages 19 - 7) and 1 in heaven.  All have been homeschooled all their lives and, Lord willing, will continue to be.  All play musical instruments of various types - violin, piano, drums, flute, trumpet.  We love making a joyful noise to the Lord!

Third, I am a Charlotte Mason/Montessori/Classical educating homeschool mama.  We have been doing this for going on 16 years now.  I enjoy helping others in their journey as a homeschooling mother.

Fourth, I am an avid book collector and reader.  And all who dwell in my house are as well.  Our home boasts of 11 book shelves filled to overflowing with books.  To be exact, we have books in every room of our house, except the bath and laundry room.

Fifth, I love to sew.  I mostly make doll clothes, historical clothing and other costumes for the kids, gifts for them, and lego clothes.  I just published a book on making lego clothes.  It was a 2 year labor of love, but so much fun.  You can find the link on the home page of my blog.  It is available for purchase in either print or kindle form.

And, last but not least, I like to live as naturally as I can.  I love essential oils, herbs, natural cleaners, and eating as clean as I am able.  I love to make my own products as much as possible, whether it be food or cleaners or practically anything else.

In my blog, you will find homeschooling advice and ideas, recipes, sewing projects and possibly a craft here and there, and, of course, books!  I hope you find my blog a help and a blessing.  Throughout the blog, I may have affliliate links posted in the post.  I will always warn you. This helps provide for my family in a small way.  Thank you for your help in purchasing!
